JP Euro provides complete certified cooling system repair services and maintenance for all car makes and models, both import and domestic. We handle every aspect of cooling systems, from radiator and water pump to heater cores, thermostats and sensors.
Cooling systems should be inspected annually and coolant should be flushed and replaced every 3 years to prevent damage to other components of the system. Following the factory scheduled maintenance helps keep repair costs lower.
Early warning signs of cooling system issues include leaks, squeaky fan belt or higher engine temperatures. Coolant leaks are usually green or pink, depending upon the type of coolant your car uses. Sometimes, it’ll smell like pancake syrup. If you start to experience any of these symptoms, schedule an appointment with us immediately.
To find the problem, we often pressure test the system. Pressure testing can reveal leaks anywhere in the system. If the problem is a leaking head gasket, there are other tests for this.
After identifying the problem, we’ll contact you as to your options. In most cases, the repairs are minor. In some cases however, because of the engine configuration and cramped space under the hood, the labor costs tend to go higher because of the labor involved to get access to the failing component(s).
It’s not uncommon for us to recommend a water pump replacement while you have the car apart for something like a timing chain replacement. This is because we’ve already disassembled these components and a new water pump is cheap insurance. In other cases, your problem might just be a stuck thermostat or a bad temperature sensor. Best to have it checked to be sure.

Cooling systems are generally overlooked until there’s a problem. That’s a huge mistake. If an engine overheats even once, the damage could be catastrophic. With today’s aluminum heads and engine blocks, even using the wrong kind of water can be extremely detrimental to the life of the engine.
Cooling systems require not only use of model-specific coolant/anti-freeze, the use of distilled water is critical to preventing corrosion of system components.
On most vehicles, an annual inspection can prevent problems. Actual recommended inspection intervals depend on the vehicle, its weight and how the vehicle is used. Vehicles that tow heavy loads are generally viewed as “heavy use” and as such, will require frequent inspection and will suffer a decreased service life on brake components.
Essentially, the wearable parts are the radiator, water pump, thermostat and hoses. Let us not forget the coolant itself and the fan belt.
Maintenance is key to longevity of these parts. Contaminated/neglected coolant can kill other components rapidly and this is something often overlooked by drivers. If your fan belt/serpentine belt breaks, the car can overheat in minutes, resulting in catastrophic engine failure.
The biggest piece of advice we can offer is to have your cooling system inspected at least annually. If we catch a problem early, it will save you hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars.
